A penny becomes over $10 million in 30 days

I hate math, except where it relates to increasing my bank balance. But I love this particular piece of math. If you took a penny and doubled it every day for 30 days, how much money would you have? Can you take a guess?

Let’s do the math together.

Day 1 .01
Day 2 .02
Day 3 .04
Day 4 .08
Day 5 .16
Day 6 .32
Day 7 .64
Day 8 1.28
Day 9 2.56
Day 10 5.12
Day 11 10.24
Day 12 20.48
Day 13 40.96
Day 14 81.92
Day 15 163.84
Day 16 327.68
Day 17 655.36
Day 18 1,310.72
Day 19 2,621.44
Day 20 5,242.88
Day 21 10,485.76
Day 22 20,971.52
Day 23 41,943.04
Day 24 83,886.08
Day 25 167,772.16
Day 26 335,544.32
Day 27 671,088.64
Day 28 1,342,177.28
Day 29 2,684,354.56
Day 30 5,368,709.12

On day 31 you would have a staggering $10,737,418.24.

This is what I love so much about network marketing, and particularly the company I work with that has the best compensation plan in the business. It takes some work to get the business up and running (no get rich quick schemes here). But the payoff is tremendous if you stick with it until you hit that critical mass point, where your business grows whether you get out of bed or not!

Do not quit on day 15 (figuratively speaking). I know $163.84 is not a lot of money, but if you stick with it, look at what you end up with!

I’m just giving you food for thought here, because this scenario is kind of similar to network marketing. People simply give up too soon. Dont’ do that. Don’t give up – you might just be half way there!

35 Personalized Christmas Cards in 17 Minutes!

Greeting cards up close

Image via Wikipedia

I think it is  a crying shame that people are not sending out as many greeting cards as they used to.  Greeting cards are a personalized and touching way to stay connected to people you care about.  I do understand, however.  Greeting cards in the stores are SO EXPENSIVE!  I like the system I use – REAL, customized, personalized greeting cards for less than a dollar a piece!

Still, the prospect of sending holiday cards to ALL your friends and acquaintances can be a bit daunting!  A week before Christmas I still had not finished sending out all my holiday cards.   I had already sent over 50 and each one had taken less than a minute to create and send using the system I use (I just LOVE GETTING PAID to do my holiday gift and card sending!)

But here I was, on a post office deadline, and still 35 Christmas cards to make and send.  My solution was to simply upload a family photo, add a pretty frame and a nice message inside, and then set it up to add the first name(s) of all my recipients and click SEND.  I’ll tell you, using this system to send your REAL greeting cards through the US mail is a heck of a lot easier than blogging!

So easy to make in a few seconds!

So easy to make in a few seconds!

I sent out 35 cards in 17 minutes that way.  And I got paid to do it!  I’ll help you do the same – never be overwhelmed at the holidays again!  Post a comment and I’ll get back to you!

Happy Card-Sending!

Mandy

Appreciation and Thanks

Since Thanksgiving is coming up I definitely want to write about giving thanks – one of our favorite subjects around here!

Giving thanks and being appreciative is kind of  like a snowball.  You get it rolling and you begin to find more and more things to be appreciative of.   In the same way, you put your attention on positive things and you attract positive things toward you.   It’s kind of neat how it works.

There are many ways to express appreciation.  One of my favorite ways is to send a card.   Sending a card lets someone know you care enough to follow through.    It also gives them something they can hold in their hands and show to others.

Who deserves to get a card from you today?

Who deserves to get a card from you today?

Earlier this year I brought my twin girls to a birthday party for one of their friends.   The girls had a wonderful time.   I had taken a picture of the birthday girl at the party.   I made a card with the birthday girl on the front and sent it to the girl’s mother, thanking her for a wonderful party.  She called a few days later having received it in the mail, almost in tears, thanking me for such a lovely card.

By the way, if while you were reading this you thought of someone you need to send a card to, let me know and I’ll give you a card and mail it for you for free.   Just email me at wayne@twocupsconnect.com.

Friends

Sound too simple, or too good to be true?  We thought so too until we tried it.  Of course, we’ve always enjoyed sending out birthday and Christmas cards, but with 3 young children we couldn’t always find the time to rush down to the supermarket, pick a card, go to the post office to buy stamps and then rush home to write out the card, put it in an envelope, stick on the stamp, and then go out again to mail it!  There had to be a better, faster and more convenient way to stay in touch with the people we love and care about!

Choose ~ Personalize ~ Add a Gift ~ Send!

Choose ~ Personalize ~ Add a Gift ~ Send ~ SIMPLE!

Well, now there is.  You can literally send a greeting card – or a whole bunch of cards – by just sitting at your computer, choosing a lovely card, writing in it with a font made from your OWN HANDWRITING, and then clicking the SEND button.  The company we work with prints the card, stamps it, and mails it for us – we don’t have to do a thing!

Not only that – but they PAY US every time a card is sent out, and every time we show a friend of ours how to use the system.  Really!  You’ll be amazed at how neat and easy this system is and what a wonderful lifestyle you can have if you’ll just take the time to learn and build this business.

To  see for yourself how this works, contact us today for your FREE gift account so you can start sending out greeting cards right away.    Email Mandy or Wayne today at Cards@CardlyWorking.com.

Compensation Plans in Network Marketing

Frankly, most multi-level compensation plans are very, very complex because they have to satisfy so many “what-ifs” such as “What if one of my downline team members drops out – where does their commission go?”  So compensation plans are based on very complicated mathematical equations that are often almost impossible to explain.

The good news is that in most cases it doesn’t matter.  Yes, you heard me right.  The majority of network marketing companies have good compensation plans that offer a fair exchange to you for the work you do.  More than fair if you stick with the company and really do well.

So my advice is not to worry about explaining the compensation plan to your prospects – just let them know what they need to do to build their business and the money will follow!

How to Choose the Right Network Marketing Company

Wayne and I have been successful with a couple of network marketing ventures.  Why are we not still doing those businesses, rather than choosing to work exclusively as distributors with Send Out Cards?  Good question!

Our first moderately successful venture involved a health care savings plan for people who couldn’t afford – or couldn’t qualify for – regular medical insurance.  This business was going well until the law changed in Florida (where we were living at the time) and suddenly we could no longer sell that product!

We picked ourselves up, and found a new venture.  We had a respectable residual income still coming in from the first business, and we were able to build this new business even larger, recruiting a great team and building our income to what we considered to be a very high level (over $10,000 per month).  We were happy and doing well and helping others to do the same.  THAT business was based on the mortgage industry.  When the housing marketing crashed our income crashed right along with it.

That taught us our first big lesson in network marketing:

1) Don’t choose a company with a product that is likely to be legislated out of existence!  Pick something simple and safe.  We picked greeting cards because it is unlikely that sending heartfelt greeting cards will be outlawed any time soon!

2) Choose a product that you love and are passionate about.  There is a lot of repetition in network marketing when you make your presentations to your prospects – you had better LOVE talking about that product!

3) Choose a product that other people will love too!  We had a brief foray into a company that offered a video-related technology product.  Being film makers we LOVED that product.  Unfortunately, we discovered that not EVERYONE is dying to be on camera when sending emails to their friends and contacts – who wants to be seen with no makeup and wearing bunny boxers?

4) Pick a company that has no competitors.  With the video technology product there were soon a lot of competing companies in that field as computer technology rapidly advanced.  And hands up who has been offered a Miracle Drink or Wonder Water product in the past 12 months?  Enough said.

There are more ways to choose the right network marketing company – stay tuned!

Lifestyle Marketing Works!

Wayne and I try to make it a point to meet at least one new person per day.  A lot of people ask us how we manage to do that.  Well – we do a lot of   ‘lifestyle marketing’.  What’s lifestyle marketing? Well, it is meeting new people through simply living your life.

For example, we have 3 young children, so we are constantly attending cub scout meetings, school open houses, birthday parties and other kid-related events.  Really, that is all we would need to do to meet an average of one new person per day!

School 50's Party

Holly, Talbryn & Jasmine, school ice cream social, 2007.

But if we didn’t have kids Wayne and I have a lot of different interests we would pursue, such as going to independent film festivals, quilt making classes (okay – me, not Wayne), attending networking meetings, going on group hikes, and going to dinner with friends (oh – I remember those days – vaguely!)

I hope this inspires you to get out there and meet some people – all you have to do is pursue things you personally enjoy – that way you’ll be meeting people with common interests to you, and you’ll enjoy the experience of building your business while making new friends.
